How to Connect a PS3 to LG HDTV

The PlayStation 3 comes standard with three connection options for easy setup with your TV or HDTV. When connecting the PlayStation 3 to an LG HDTV, you can chose between regular High Def or High Definition Multimedia Interface. Use a component cable for HD connection to an LG HDTV, or use an HDMI cable for an HDMI connection.

HDMI Connection

  Insert one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI Out port on the back panel of your PS3.

  Plug the other end of the cable into the HDMI In port on your LG HDTV.

  Power on the PS3. Turn the LG HDTV to its proper HDMI input channel to view the PS3 welcome screen.
Component Connection

  Plug the color-coded jacks of the component cable into the corresponding ports of the LG HDTV. For example, plug the yellow jack of the cable into the yellow cable on the TV.

  Insert the other end of the cable into the AV Multi Out port on the back panel of the PS3.

  Power on the PS3. Turn the LG HDTV to its proper HDMI input channel to view the PS3 welcome screen.
