How to Hook Up a PS3 to a TV After Already Hooking It Up to Another TV

When connecting your PlayStation 3, also referred to as PS3, to a television for the first time, the console automatically detects and configures the optimal video output settings for your television. Changing your PS3 to a new television, however, is not as easy. Many people face a blank television screen after connecting the console to a different set. For your console to work with a new television, you must reset video output settings on the console.

     Connect the PS3 to your TV if necessary using your video input cable.

     Turn on the PS3 and allow the XMB to boot up.

     Hold down "Power" until the console beeps and shuts off. Release "Power."

     Hold "Power" again until the console beeps twice and turns on. Release "Power." The video output settings reset.

   • 5

     Follow the console's video setting prompts to finish configuring the system.
