How to Hack a PS3Clan Tag

Clan tags are a way to identify individual players or teams within online matchmaking. The tag comprises four characters and is typed in using the keyboard within the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" game platform. But the color and characters are limited to mono-colored letters and numbers. Clan tag hacking on the PS3 allows the player to change her four-character tag to letters, digits or special characters as well as allowing her to change the color of these tag elements.

Instructions

  Access the "multiplayer" lobby from the main menu of the game. Arrow down to "Call Signs &Kill Streaks" and press "X" to access this area. Arrow down to "Clan Tag" and press "X" on the controller to access the keyboard for editing the clan tag.

  Fill the four spaces available for the clan tag with "AAAA" to allow you to easily find this section of code containing the clan tag info. Back out to the main menu of the game by pressing the "O" button on each screen until you reach the main menu.

  Press the "Menu" button located at the center of the PS3 controller. Select "Yes" to quit the game and go to the console menu. Insert the flash drive memory stick into an available USB slot in the PS3 console.

  Arrow up or down on the "Game" section of the console menu until you locate the "Saved Game Data" file. Highlight the "Modern Warfare" file, press the "Select" button to open an options menu, and select "Copy." When prompted to choose a location to copy the file to, select the USB Flash Drive.

  Remove the USB flash drive from the PS3 and insert it into the computer. Open the HdX Hex Editor program on your computer and click the "Open" button from the file menu.

  Locate the flash drive and open it. Select "PS3" from the flash drive file and select "GRADO_MP" file, containing the clan tag info.

  Locate the ".AAAA." characters within this GRADO_MP file. Change the characters within the periods to any character type you want. For example, change the "AAAA" to "@%$*."

  Save the file and quit. Remove the flash drive from the computer and insert it into the PS3.

  Select the "Saved Game Data" from the PS3 console menu, select the "Modern Warfare" file and press the "Select" button on the controller. Choose "Copy" to automatically copy the GRADO_MP file back to the PS3.

  Arrow up to the "Modern Warfare" game disc within the "Game" section of the console menu and press "X" to load the game. Select "Multiplayer" from the "Modern Warfare" main menu to view your hacked clan tag.
