How to Get PS3 to Recognize Themes

The PlayStation 3, released in 2006, allows users to customize the console's main menu however they want. By applying different themes to the console, you can change the PS3 main menu's background and icons. The console comes with over 10 themes with additional themes being available to download from the PlayStation Network Store. To get your PlayStation 3 to recognize a different theme, you must first apply it from the PlayStation 3's main menu while you are not currently playing a game or watching a movie.

     Select "Settings" followed by "Theme Settings."

     Select "Theme."

     Select the theme you wish to install on your PlayStation 3 from the right side of the screen.

     Select "Apply." The theme is automatically applied to your PlayStation 3's main menu, changing the background and icons accordingly.
