Wired Connection
Press the "Power" button on the front of the PS3 to turn it off. Connect an Ethernet cable into the "Ethernet" port on the back of the PS3, and connect the other side of the Ethernet cable into the "Ethernet/Internet" port on the DSL modem.
Press the "Power" button on the front of the PS3 to turn it on. Scroll to the "Settings" icon on the PS3 menu. Select "Network Settings," and press the "X" button.
Scroll down to "Internet Connection," press the "X" button and select "Enable." Scroll down to "Internet Connection Settings," press the "X" button and select "Wired."
Select "Easy" as the connection type, and press the "X" button. Press the "X" button to save the settings. Select "Test Connection," and press the "X" button. The PS3 will be connected to your DSL connection after the test completes.
Wireless Connection
Press the "Power" button on the front of the PS3 to turn it on. Scroll to the "Settings" icon on the PS3 menu. Select "Network Settings," and press the "X" button.
Scroll down to "Internet Connection," press the "X" button, and select "Enable." Scroll down to "Internet Connection Settings," press the "X" button, and select "Wireless."
Select "Easy" as the connection type, and press the "X" button. Select "Scan," and press the "X" button. After the PS3 scans for networks, select the name of your wireless network. You'll be given the option of naming the network or leaving it on its default name. If required, enter the network password using the on-screen keyboard.
Press the "X" button to save the settings. Select "Test Connection," and press the "X" button. The PS3 will be connected to your DSL connection after the test completes.
