Install Driver
Go to the MotioninJoy website and download the PS3 controller driver. The driver is available for 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.
Unpack the downloaded zip file, and then double-click on the executable application file to install the driver on your PC. When the installation process completes, click the "Finish" button. The "MotioninJoy Gamepad Tool" window will appear on the screen.
Connect your PS3 controller to your computer by using the device's USB cable. The "Device driver software installed successfully" message will appear in your Windows task bar.
Click the "Load Driver" button in the "MontioninJoy Gamepad Tool" window. You will receive the "completed" message when the installation process is finished.
Click the "Profiles" tab. Your PS3 controller will be listed at the top of the screen. Hold your PS3 controller and click the "Vibration Testing" button. The controller will vibrate.
Calibrate the Controller
Go to "Start" and open the "Control Panel." Click the "View devices and printers" link, which is located in the "Hardware and Sound" section. The PS3 controller icon will be displayed in "Devices."
Right-click the PS3 controller icon and select the "Game controller setting" option. The "Game Controllers" dialogue box will appear.
Click the "Properties" button to test the calibration of the controller. To test the calibration, press each button on your controller one at a time. Each time you press a button, a light will appear on the "Buttons" section in the dialogue box. If the controller is not functioning properly, click the "Settings" tab and then click the "Calibrate" button.
