How to Move a Save From USB to PS3

The PS3 can easily connect to a USB device, like a flash drive or external hard drive. Using that connection, you can transfer almost any type of content, like music, videos or save games, and later you can retrieve that content using either the same PS3 or a different one. Since your save games are what really matter after you've played a game, keeping them safe by backing them up or transferring them to another console is important. Moving these files from a USB device onto a PS3 requires little time.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your PS3 if it's not on already.

    • 2

Connect the USB device to the PS3 and log into your account.

    • 3

Navigate horizontally to the "Game" section of the XMB menu.

    • 4

Navigate vertically to the "Saved Data Utility (PS3)" option and select it.

    • 5

Select the USB device displayed in the list.

    • 6

Locate and highlight the save game you want to copy.

    • 7

Press the green triangle button on your controller or PS3 remote. This brings up all available actions for the save file.

    • 8

Select "Copy" from the list of options.
