How to Hook a PS3 to an LCD TV

The Sony PlayStation 3, or PS3, is a gaming console that allows you to play with high-definition games. Unlike the PSP, or Play Station Portable, you need to connect your PS3 to a TV to be able to use it. If this is your first time using your PS3, you probably do not know how to do this on your own. If you know the correct steps to follow, the process should take only a few minutes.

Compatible TV connector (HDMI, Sony AV cable, etc.)

  Make sure that your PS3 and LCD TV are turned off.

  Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the "HDMI OUT Connector" of the PS3 and the other end to the "HDMI IN connector" of your LCD TV. If you are using other cables, such as "AV cable," "S VIDEO cable" or "Component AV cable," connect one end to its respective port, located at the back of the PS3 and the other end to the "VIDEO IN" connector of your LCD television.

  Connect one end of the AC power cord into the "AC IN connector" of the PS3 and the other end to an active power outlet. Turn on the TV and PS3.
