How to Get MyPlayer Skill Points in NBA2K11 for the PS3

MyPlayer Skills Points in "NBA 2K11" are obtained in career mode by competing in games against opposing teams. You begin career mode with 10,000 skill points, which are used to upgrade your players' various attributes. For example, you can spend some of your skill points to increase the speed attribute of one of your players. The key to earning more skill points is to get a good performance rating in each game you play. Performance ratings range from A+ to an F and are heavily based on how well you set picks, box out and contest opponents' shots during games.

Instructions

    • 1

Begin a game in career mode against a computer opponent.

    • 2

Set picks during the game by holding down the Take Charge button in front of a defender. The goal of a pick is to create distance between the ball handler and the opposing defender. It is important to leave enough space between yourself and the defender so he has a chance to run into (and foul) you.

    • 3

Box out after every offensive shot by moving one of your players in front of an opposing team member before he can rebound. The goal is to prevent defensive rebounds while maximizing the chance for an offensive rebound. Follow the opposing team member as he runs around the court to stay in front of him.

    • 4

Contest opponents' shots by pressing the Block button just before you anticipate the offensive player will shoot. You will miss if you time your block too soon, which leaves the defender with an open shot.
