How to Set Up a Game in Warhawk

Hosting a game of "Warhawk" lets you control every aspect of the PlayStation 3 war game. Setting up a game of "Warhawk" is easy and requires you only to have an Internet connection. During the setup process you can tweak nearly ever aspect of the game including the game modes played and the amount of friendly fire damage. Creating your own "Warhawk" server lets you play the game the way you want to play it. It also makes it easier to play the game with friends as it gives everyone a specific server to meet at.

Instructions

    • 1

Select "Online" from the "Warhawk" "Main" menu.

    • 2

Select "Create a Game" from the "Online" menu.

    • 3

Select "Server Options" to go to the "Server Options" menu.

    • 4

Name your server and create a password for it.

    • 5

Set the minimum and maximum amount of players allowed to enter the server. You can also set the maximum rank allowed to enter your server. Players ranked higher than the rank you set will be barred from entering.

    • 6

Choose a spawn delay time and the start delay time. Setting the spawn delay time means deciding how many seconds or minutes must pass before a dead player can respawn and rejoin the game. Setting the start delay time controls how long you must wait to start the game after the map has been loaded and teams have been selected.

    • 7

Choose what type of server you will run. There are three options: player, dedicated and ranked dedicated. Player lets you host and participate in non-ranked games only, dedicated lets you host ranked and non-ranked games but only lets you participate in ranked matches and ranked dedicated lets you host ranked and non-ranked games but only lets you participate in non-ranked matches.

    • 8

Exit the "Server Options" menu when you are done configuring your server. Enter the "Advanced Options" menu to further customize the gameplay on your server

    • 9

Set the meter to the number that corresponds to the amount of damage you want it to do (from zero to 100 percent) if you want to allow friendly fire.

    • 10

Set rank play. You can only do this on dedicated servers and allows players to participate in ranked battles.

    • 11

Pick the team options for your server. The team options you select will directly affect how teams are formed on your server.

    • 12

Turn on "Team Switching" to allow players to freely switch teams. Activate "Randomize Teams" to create random teams at the start of every round. Turn on "Balance Teams" to prevent players from switching teams, and turn on "Auto-Switch" to automatically swap dead players to new teams in the event of unbalanced teams.

    • 13

Enable or disable split-screen. Split-screen play lets four players play "Warhawk" online on the same console. You can turn "Form Local Same Team" on to force all players playing on one console to be on the same team.

    • 14

Select an intermission time (the time before a new game begins) and set the options for the Capture-the-Flag game mode. You can enable "Fly With Flag," which allows players to fly the flag back to their base, and you can also set the return time (how long you have to hold the flag before you are awarded a point).

    • 15

Leave the "Advanced Options" menu and enter the "Game Options" menu. In the "Game Options" menu, you choose what maps will be played on your server.

    • 16

Pick the maps you want played in your map. For every map selected you can choose how many rounds are played on it, choose the type of games played on it and set a score/time limit. To find out more information about a map, select "Map Layout."

    • 17

Exit the "Game Options" menu and select "Start Game" to launch your server.
