How to Delete a PS3 Avatar

The PlayStation Network is an online portal for PlayStation 3 owners to keep track of game achievements and socialize with fellow gamers. When you first set up your PlayStation Network account, you will choose an avatar. This avatar appears next to your name on your friend's list and helps your friends identify you. You can choose your avatar from a library of graphics. If you ever want a new avatar, all you have to do is delete your current icon and pick a new one.

  Open the "PlayStation Network" menu on your Xross Media Bar. Highlight and select "Account Management." From this screen you can adjust your account information and PlayStation Store transactions.

  Highlight "Account Information" and hit "X." Scroll down this list of options until you see "Avatar." Open the "Avatar" menu.

  Use your directional arrows to scroll through the available avatars. You can sort avatars by theme by opening the drop-down menu and selecting a theme filter.

  Highlight your new icon, press "X" to select it and hit "Confirm" to finalize the process.
