How to Make a Time Bomb in LittleBigPlanet

There are thousands of user-made levels available in Media Molecule's "Little Big Planet" for the PlayStation 3. These levels were made possible by the many tools available to create a variety of items and landscapes. A simple time bomb can be created by combining a regular bomb item and other necessary gadgets and moving parts. The duration of the bomb's fuse can also be customized by the user.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your "Popit" and select "Tool Bag." Navigate to the Dangerous category on the Gameplay Kits tab. Select the rectangular bomb and place it anywhere on the level creation screen.

    • 2

Open "Collected Objects" from the Popit menu. Select "Cardboard" from the basic materials section. Choose the square shape. Place one square of Cardboard directly on top of the bomb and then another slightly overlapping the first piece, but with most of the square extending to the right of the bomb.

    • 3

Return to your Tool Bag and navigate to the Gadgets category. Select the "Magnetic Key" under the Switches category. Use the right control stick to make the key as small as you can. Place it in the top right corner of the cardboard. Select another "Magnetic Key," shrink it and place it next to the first.

    • 4

Select a square of "Cardboard" again and press "R2" repeatedly to make it as thin as you can. Use the control sticks to shrink the piece down to about 1/8 the height of the first cardboard squares. Hold the "X" button and move to the right to create a thin rectangle of carboard. Move the rectangle to the center of the second piece of cardboard and place it there.

    • 5

Select the "Motor Bolt" in the Gadgets section of your Tool Bag. Shrink it down and place it on the right side of the small cardboard rectangle. Select the second Magnetic Key you placed earlier and place it on the cardboard rectangle to the left of the Motor Bolt. Move the first Magnetic Key to the right of the Motor Bolt. Do not allow this Magnetic Key to be in contact with the rectangular strip of cardboard or the Motor Bolt.

    • 6

Place your cursor on the first Magnetic Bolt and press the "Square" button to enter the Tweak menu. Highlight "Trigger Radius" and change the radius to be as small as possible. Change the Key Color to match the color of the second Magnetic Key if they do not already share the same color. Exit out of the Tweak menu and use the Move tool to grab the end of the wire extending from the first Magnetic Key. Attach the end of the wire to the surface of the bomb.

    • 7

Press "Up" on the D-pad to un-pause the level creator. The Motor Bolt will rotate the second key towards the first. The bomb will explode when the two Magnetic Keys come in contact with each other.
