How to Maximize the PS3 Bandwidth

Playing on the PlayStation Network on your PlayStation 3 allows you to communicate with other users and play a range of online games. Having a poor bandwidth for your PS3 can result in you experiencing lag during games or being unable to connect to a game altogether. There are a number of different things you can do to help ensure the maximum possible bandwidth on your PS3.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off all computers or other Internet connected devices before playing on your PlayStation 3. Each device that is connected to the Internet uses bandwidth to load Web pages and carry out other functions. This dramatically decreases the amount of bandwidth received by your PS3.

    • 2

Move your router so that it is closer to your PlayStation 3. The further away the router is from your console, the weaker the connection. Moving it closer will result in you receiving a higher bandwidth.

Switch the Internet connection to your PS3 from a wireless to a wired connection. A wired connection provides a much more stable connection. This allows for a stronger connection with a higher bandwidth.
