Instructions
Move your router closer to your PS3, or vice versa. Since the PS3 uses a wireless connection, its connection strength is largely dependent on the location of the router. Distance, walls and other objects all can interfere with the strength of your connection. If you cannot move the router closer, consider purchasing a wireless repeater, which acts as a relay point for your wireless signal.
Stop any downloads or other Internet activity you have occurring on your network. Whether the activity is coming from the PS3 or another computer on the network, any additional activity will slow down your connection speed and can cause you to lag.
Update your router's firmware. Hardware manufacturers often release updates for their products in the form of firmware. These updates increase the efficiency, strength and compatibility of the device, which can significantly improve your connection speed when using the hardware. These updates are typically available for free from the manufacturer's website.
