How to Connect to PSN With PS3 on CFW

The PlayStation Network (PSN) is a online access system for PlayStation gaming system players that gives access to streaming movies, games and television series. Custom Firmware (CFW) is a type of PlayStation 3 (PS3) softmodded (hacked) operating system that enables your PS3 to work with a number of unofficial hacker-community applications and games. The process of connecting to PSN with your CFW PS3 is fairly straightforward.

      Download the Charles Proxy Server file package, AsbestOS Installers, and the PSDNS.exe file onto your computer.

      Double-click the Charles Proxy Server file to open it, then right-click the "charles-proxy-ssl-proxying-certificate.crt" file and click the "Copy File" option to make a copy of the file. Name the new copy "CA24.cer."

      Plug the USB storage drive into an available USB port on your computer, then drag-and-drop the AsbestOS Installers file and the CA24.cer file into the USB drive folder. Remove the USB drive from your computer.

      Plug the USB storage drive into the USB port on your PS3 console, then press the "Power" button to turn it on.

      Scroll to the "Install Package Files" option in the XMB menu, then click the "X" button on your game controller to install the files.

      Scroll to your FTP application option in the main menu, then press the "X" button to launch it, and launch your FTP application on your computer. Click the "Connect" button onthe FTP application to connect to your PS3.

      Open the "/dev_rwflash/data/cert" directory in the FTP application window, then drag the copy CA24.cer file into that directory. Press the "Power" button on your PS3 to turn it off, then press again to reboot the system.

      Double-click the PS3DNS.exe file to launch the application on your computer, then select the region you are in (U.S.A., etc).

      Enter the IP address of your computer into the "Primary DNS" entry box and router DNS server address into the "Secondary DNS" entry box. You may need to look up the Internet setting for your computer to find these addresses.

      Scroll to the PSN option in the XMB menu on your PS3 display, then log in.
