Things You'll Need
Instructions
Position the PlayStation 3 near the Sharp Aquos. The provided cables with your PS3 are only a few feet long, so make sure that the console is close enough to reach.
Turn the Aquos around and locate the audio/visual inputs. Regardless of the year of your particular model, this Sharp will feature a series of standard inputs that are clearly marked.
Connect both of the audio RCA cables, marked with red and white ends, to the appropriate audio inputs on the Aquos television. Likewise, connect the standard yellow video cable and the S-video cable to the two video inputs on the rear of your television.
Power on your PlayStation 3 and Aquos television to make sure the cables are securely connected.
HDMI Connection
Make sure your PlayStation 3 console is located close enough to the television to connect the HDMI cable. This particular cable allows both high-definition audio and video to connect two devices.
Remove all of the RCA cables and S-video cable from the PlayStation 3's rear. Set these cables out of the way, because they are unnecessary in the HDMI connection.
Connect the HDMI cable to the side panel on the Sharp Aquos and the rear of the PlayStation 3.
Hold down the power button on the PS3 through two beeps. The second alert will sound about five seconds after the first. Wait for the PS3 to power on and reach the menu screen.
Set your television to HDMI input through your PS3 "Display Settings" screen. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete this setup. Notice how the picture quality is updated.
