How to Hook Up a PS3 With FiOS

To play games online with the PlayStation 3 you need to have a high-speed Internet connection such as cable, DSL or FiOS. FiOS Internet is faster than basic broadband and has speeds up to 50 Mbps downstream and up to 25 Mbps upstream through fiber optic lines. You can connect the PlayStation 3 to your FiOS Internet connection using an RJ-45 cable for a wired connection or pick up a wireless signal from a wireless router.

      Turn on your PlayStation 3, then select "Settings" from the main menu.

      Choose "Network Settings," then select "Internet Connection Settings."

      Select "Wireless" for your connection type and then press "Scan" to scan the area for wireless access points.

      Choose the access point for your FiOS router and then enter the encryption key or password for the router.

      Select "Save" to save your settings. Click "Test Connection" to verify that you have an active connection through your FiOS Internet service.
