How to Make a Jig USB for PS3

Download the USB jig HEX file from the download mirror onto your computer.

Download the Flip installer file from the developer's website and double-click it after the download has completed. Click "Next" on the installer window and agree to the terms of the software use. Click "Next" twice and "Install" to finish the installation of Flip on your computer.

Hold the "Reset" button on the Atmel USB PCB controller and insert its USB cable into the PS3's USB port. Press the hardware bootloader button on the PCB controller while holding the reset button. Release the reset button and the hardware bootloader button.

Click the "Install from a specific location (Advanced)" option on the "New Device Detection Wizard" window that comes up. Click "Next." Click "Browse" on the next window and click the "USB" folder inside the "Flip" program directory on the "C" drive of your computer.

Open "Flip" on the computer on which it was installed and click the microchip icon on the main Flip window. Click the "Atmel USB PCB Controller" from the list that comes up. Click the "USB" icon on the Flip window and click the "USB" option and "Open."

Click "File" on the Flip menu and click "Load HEX File" from the context menu that comes up. Select the PS Groove HEX file you downloaded and click "OK."

Click the "Erase, Check, Program and Verify" options on the "Run" window that comes up. Click "Run" to create the USB jig device for the Sony PS3.

Click the "Start Application" option on the Flip main window to detach and eject the Atmel USB PCB Controller. Unplug the USB PCB controller from the computer.
