How to Hook Up Four PS3 Instruments at Once

A music game jam session with four "Rock Band" or "Guitar Hero" instruments connected is simple for owners of older PlayStation 3 consoles, as their models sport four USB ports on the front input panel. Those with newer models are stuck with two USB ports and must daisy chain their instruments using the wireless USB dongles. Those using third party instruments or instruments without USB dongles (such as three microphones or wired guitars) need to connect a USB hub to their PS3s.
