How to Do a Super Speed Mod on the PS3

Super speed modding is a type of hacker-community soft-modification technique that allows you to play certain multiplayer games at an accelerated speed. With the super speed mod active, your character and various other characters in the game can run jump and shoot faster than normal. There are a number of games that can utilize the super speed mod, like Modern Warfare 2. The process of doing super speed mod on your jailbroken (hacked) Sony PlayStation 3 gaming system is fairly straightforward.

Things You'll Need

USB storage drive
FileZilla FTP application

Instructions

  Download the EBOOT.Bin, t5_ps3f.self files onto your computer.

  Download the PS3 FTP Server v1.2 to your computer.

  Plug the USB storage drive into your computer USB port. A folder for the drive will appear on your desktop.

  Drag and drop the FTP Server file package into the USB drive folder, then remove the drive from your computer.

  Plug the USB drive into the USB port on your PS3, then press the "Power" button on your PS3 to turn it on.

  Scroll to the "Install Package Files" option in the XMB menu, then press the "X" button on your game controller to start the installation.

  Scroll to the FTP Server option in the XMB menu, then press the "X" button to launch it. You will see the IP address for your PS3 on the main screen of the application.

  Launch the FileZilla application, then enter the IP address of your PS3 and "FTPd12345" as the username in the top menu of the application. Leave the password box blank and enter "21" in the "Port" entry box. Click the "OK" button. Your computer will now be connected to the file system on your PS3.

  Click the "/dev_hdd0/game/30591/userdir" directory in the FileZilla window, then drag the "EBOOT.Bin" and "t5_ps3f.self" files into that directory.
