How to Adjust Surround Sound on PS3

Your Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) gaming system has built-in audio options that make it compatible with your stereo surround sound system. Using your surround sound system with your PS3 makes for a more dynamic gaming experience. Like any type of audio output from your PS3, the audio settings of the device will give you options for make adjustments to your taste. The process of adjusting surround sound on your PS3 is fairly straightforward.

      Press the "Power" button on your PS3 gaming console to turn it on.

      Scroll the "Settings" option in the XMB main menu, then select the "Sound Settings" by pressing the "X" button on your game controller.

      Select the "Audio Output Settings" option, then select the input option that matches your surround sound connection type (such as HDMI, Optical). Press the "X" button move to the next screen. The Audio Output Format screen will open, showing the direct format options to which you can adjust your PS3.

      Select the desired format option for your surround sound system and your personal taste, then press the "X" button to save the settings.
