How to Install Waninkoko CFW on a PlayStation 3

Waninkoko's PS3 firmware was one of the first custom firmwares released on the Sony PS3. This custom firmware allowed users to install PS3 applications directly from the PS3 menu. These applications consist of office software and even games. Installing this custom firmware requires that you are already have PS3 firmware 3.41. Unfortunately, when this custom firmware is installed, you will lose access to the PlayStation Network.

      Download the prepatched Waninkoko PS3 custom firmware v2 installation file from the developer's website.

      Insert a USB flash drive into the computer and open the drive on the computer's file browser, and click the "New folder." Type in "PS3."

      Open the "PS3" folder and click "New folder." Type in "UPDATE." Right-click the Waninkoko firmware file and click "Copy" from the context menu.

      Right-click the "UPDATE" folder and click the "Paste" option on the context menu. Unplug the USB flash drive from the computer.

      Insert the flash drive into the PS3 and select the "Settings" option from the PS3 menu. Select "System Update."

      Select "Update via Storage Method" and select the Waninkoko firmware file on the window that comes up. Select "Accept" to agree to the risks of the CFW and press "X" to install the firmware.
