How to Make a PS3 Sling Box

The Sling Box is a set-top device that allows you to watch your television programming virtually anywhere you'd want, like other televisions, computers or mobile devices. Through the mutual Internet connectivity available on both your Sling Box and your Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) gaming device, you can expand your viewing options by using the two devices together. The process of making a PS3 Sling Box, or rather connecting your PS3 and your Sling Box, is fairly straightforward.

  Press the "Power" button on your PS3 console and on your Sling Box device.

  Scroll the "Web Browser" option in the XMB menu on the PS3 menu screen, then press the "X" button on your game controller to select it.

  Navigate to the URL entry box using the "Up/Down" arrow buttons on your game controller, then enter the dedicated web address for your Sling Box. This is the address you use to connect to your Sling Box remotely. You may need to go to your Sling Box online account to locate this address.

  Enter your username and password to log into your Sling Box account through the PS3 Web browser.
