Instructions for the Gigaware PS3 Wireless Controller

Radio Shack's Gigaware controller is a more affordable alternative to the expensive official PS3 controller, and while it does not contain rechargeable batteries or vibration motors, you can still connect it to a PS3 wirelessly with the help of a receiver plugged into one of the PS3's USB ports.

  Turn on your PS3 and plug the Gigaware receiver into one of the USB ports. The "RX" light on the receiver flashes.

  Slide the controller's power switch to turn it on.

  Press and hold the "Select" and "L3" buttons on the controller -- "L3" is the left joystick, which you press down like a button. Hold the buttons down for a few seconds, until the "RX" light on the receiver stops flashing and lights up solidly.

  Press the "PS" button on the controller to assign the controller a number. The indicator on the port you select lights up.
