Things You'll Need
Instructions
Purchase a rapid-fire mod chip from your local video game retailer or order one from an online resource.
Turn your PS3 controller over and notice the five screws on the outside edges of the back of the controller. Use your screwdriver to remove the five screws.
Lift the back half of the controller off of the front half and set the back half aside. The main controller circuit board can now be accessed in the front half of the controller. There is a rectangular battery sitting on the top of the controller.
Lift up the battery and unplug the battery wire from its port on the circuit board. Notice the black IC chip in the center of the circuit board.
Remove the protective cover from the bottom of the rapid-fire chip. This will expose the adhesive on the bottom of the controller.
Place the adhesive side of the mod chip over the IC chip. Make sure the mod chip sticks securely to the IC chip.
Replace the battery, back cover and screws of the PS3 controller.
