How to Authorize Netflix on the PS3

When Netflix was first introduced, customers had to wait several days for their rented movies to arrive in the mail. In the past year, Netflix has expanded its technological capabilities to include streaming movies on your computer and home television. Now, you can stream your Netflix rentals on your home television using your PlayStation 3. Thanks to a partnership between Sony and Netflix, authorizing Netflix on your PlayStation 3 is a short, simple process.

Instructions

  Turn on your PlayStation 3 and select your individual PlayStation account. Select "What's New" from the network menu and find the Netflix app.

  Hit the "X" on your controller to select the Netflix app and download it. If this is your first time installing an app, you may be asked to sign into your PlayStation account with a username and password. Once signed in, you will be redirected to the PlayStation store.

  Find the Netflix app in the store and highlight the "download" button. Hit the "X" button on your controller to indicate that you would like to install this app.

  Go to your shopping cart in the PlayStation Store and select "download" on the Netflix app. A progress bar will appear at the center of the screen to show how much time the download will take. Once the download is completed, exit the PlayStation Store and return to the network menu.

  Select the Netflix app from the network menu, log into your account, select a movie and enjoy.
