HDMI Cable
Plug the power cable into the rear of your PS3. Attach the plug to the nearest electrical outlet.
Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the rectangle HDMI slot on the rear of your PS3.
Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI slot on your television. You will usually find this on the bottom or side of any flat screen HDTVs.
Select the "Source" button on your remote and choose the "HDMI" channel.
Turn on your PS3 and select "Yes" when asked if you wish to switch to optimal settings. The PS3 will automatically switch to HDMI.
Component Cable
Connect the power cable to the rear of your PS3 and plug the other end of the cable into the nearest electrical outlet.
Plug the flat rectangular end of the component cable into the "AV Multi Out" slot at the rear of your PS3.
Connect the red, yellow and white cables from the component cable into the corresponding connections on the rear of your TV.
Turn on your PS3. Hold down the power button for five seconds until you hear a beep twice. This will set the image to the standard display. The image will now be displayed in color on your TV.
