How to Do a Split Screen in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on the PS3 With One Controller

The PS3 game "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" enables players to battle it out in single-player mode or in various multiplayer venues. Multiplayer options include both local and online play. If you wish to play split screen on "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" using only one controller, you can do so. This will enable you to run around and get a view of the multiplayer maps. If you wish to actually play the multiplayer game against an opponent, you must play online or use a second controller for local multiplayer play.

     Turn on your PS3. Insert "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" into the optical drive. Allow the game to boot. If it doesn't automatically boot, scroll to "Game" in the PS menu. Select "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" and press "X."

     Go to "Multiplayer." Press "X" on "Local Split Screen."

     Select the map. Then select the rules for the match. Press "Start" to begin the match. You can now freely run around and observe the map. If you wish to play against an opponent, you will need a second controller in this mode.
