How to Install Surround Sound With a PS3 and a Cable

The Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) can be used to both for video gaming and to view Blu-Ray and DVD discs. If you want to enhance your gaming or movie experience, then the PS3 can be connected to a surround sound system with the cable that it comes supplied with. You just need to match the jacks to the correct ports on the surround sound system and PS3.

Instructions

    • 1

      Connect the supplied cable to the "AV Multi Out" port on the back of the PS3.

      Connect the yellow video jack on the other end of the supplied cable to the "Video In" port on the TV.

      Connect the red and white audio jacks on the other end of the supplied cable to the matching color "Video" audio jack ports on the surround sound receiver.

      Attach the front speaker wires to the "Front Speaker" ports on the rear of the receiver. Position the front speakers to the left and right and on top of or under the television.

      Attach the surround speaker wires to the "Surround Speaker" ports on the rear of the receiver. Position the surround speakers in the rear of the room to the left and the right.

      Turn on the PS3 and the surround sound system. Play a game or a movie to test the surround sound.
