How to Back Up AVCHD to a PS3

Advanced Video Coding High Definition (AVCHD) is a video storage format. Most consumer-level HD Sony camcorders use the AVCHD file format to store high-definition video. The Sony PlayStation 3 video game system can play high-definition AVCHD files directly from its internal hard drive or from external USB storage devices. The PlayStation 3's large internal hard drive -- between 60 and 120GB, depending on the model -- makes it an ideal destination for large AVCHD backup files.
