Remove the screws on the back of the PS3 controller using a Phillips screwdriver. Three of these screws are located at the top left, center and right. Two of these screws are located on the bottom row on the left and right. Place the screws aside where they will not be lost.

    • 2

Follow the seam of the PS3 controller until you find the clasp at the bottom. Press the center clip down and pull the two sides apart. Set aside the piece of the controller with the buttons. Set the other side down so the electrical components are facing you.

Remove the battery by unclipping it. With the battery removed, you can see the motherboard.

    • 4

Plug the wires of the "Intensifire" into the "Player 3" and "Player 4" slots located at the top right of the motherboard. Remove the plastic covering from the "Intensafire Chip" and place the chip on top of the "IC Chip." The IC chip is the chip in the center of the motherboard.

Clip the battery where it came from over the "Intensafire Chip," then reunite the two sides of the controller. Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the five screws into the back of the controller.
