How to Get a PlayStation Remote to Work

In addition to its gaming capabilities, the PlayStation 3 is also a media player that supports Blu-rays, DVDs and a variety of video formats. Although the standard PS3 controller can be used to control all of the aforementioned media, the official Blu-ray remote is designed to manipulate video playback and looks like a regular remote control. Before the Blu-Ray remote will work, it must be paired with the PS3.

     Scroll to the "Settings" icon on the PS3 main menu. Select "Accessory Settings." Select "Register BD Remote Control."

     Press the "Start" and "Enter" buttons on the Blu-ray remote at the same time.

     Wait for the pairing process to complete.
