How to Get World at War Working for the PS3

"Call of Duty: World at War" is a first-person shooting game. Set during World War II, this is the fifth game in the "Call of Duty" series. "COD: World at War" was released for various gaming systems including the Sony PlayStation 3. As with any other video game release, players may experience technical problems when trying to play the game on their systems. These situations can be easily solved with simple troubleshooting steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the "Call of Duty: World at War" disk into your PlayStation 3 console, and turn on the system. The Sony logo appears on your screen, and the game automatically loads. If the game does not load, begin troubleshooting.

    • 2

Insert the "Call of Duty: World at War" disk into another PlayStation 3 console, to see if the game works correctly. If the game loads and works fine in the second PS3, recheck the original system used to determine if the console is the problem.

    • 3

Check to make sure the game disk is clean. If the underside of the disk is dirty, it will affect how well the game works in the PS3 console. Use a lint-free cloth, and clean it from the inner circle -- wiping toward the outside of the disk. Do not use circular motions, because the disk will become scratched.

    • 4

Take the game to the retail store where it was purchased, along with the receipt. If it's within their warranty period, you should be able to exchange the disk for another that works. Before you leave the store, have the customer service reps ensure that the game disk is functioning properly.
