How to Format My iPod to Work on My PS3

The PlayStation 3 is a video game console that gives you access to a wide array of video games. However, the console can also be used to play music clips on a variety of third-party devices, including the iPod. The PlayStation 3 is already configured to recognize the iPod. Therefore, you merely need to connect the device to the PS3 and follow a few short steps to transfer music from the device to the PS3.

      Connect the iPod to the PS3 using the iPod's USB cable. The port is located in the rear of the device.

      Power on the PS3 and the iPod. Press the "Power" button on the front of the PS3 and power on the iPod by pressing a button on the front of the device. The PS3 will load the home menu.

      Click on "Music," "Removable Media," and press the "Triangle" button on the device's controller.

      Select "Display All." Locate the music files that you want to copy to the PS3. Press "Triangle" once you have found the music. Scroll down to "Copy" and press the "X" button. The device is finished copying once you see "Copy Complete."

      Play the music files by selecting "Music" from the main menu.
