Can You Transfer Game Data Over the PlayStation Network?

Your PlayStation 3's backup utility enables you to store data to an external hard drive or to the console's internal hard drive. You can backup data, like game saves and multimedia files, to your hard disk. But if you only need to transfer your games' trophies and achievements, you can use the PlayStation Network to backup your accomplishments and sync them to another PlayStation 3 console.

Instructions

    • 1

Power on your PlayStation 3 and television. Select the "PlayStation Network" option from your PlayStation 3's home screen, then select the "Sign-in" option. Press the "X" button on your game pad to make your selections.

    • 2

Enter the email address associated with your PlayStation Network account into the ID field, using the onscreen keyboard that appears. Enter your account's password as well, then select the "Sign-in" option.

    • 3

Select the game you'd like to back up, then select the "Trophy" option. Press the triangle button on your game pad to sync your trophy information to the PlayStation Network.
