How to Make a Playlist on a PS3

The PlayStation 3, also called the PS3, includes the ability to play several types of media like video games, Blu-ray movies and songs. The PS3 console includes compatibility for several music file formats including MP4, MP3 and WMA. If you have an extensive music library uploaded to your console from your CDs or computer, you can customize your tracks by creating playlists using the system's built-in menu system. Create the playlist and then add tracks with the PS3's cross-menu bar.

  Turn on your PS3 and press the "PS" button on the controller to open the cross-menu bar.

  Navigate to the "Music" section of the cross-menu bar.

  Select "Playlists."

  Choose "Create New Playlist."

  Enter a name for the playlist into the corresponding field and select "OK." The playlist appears in the "Playlist" menu.

  Scroll to the playlist's listing in the "Playlist" menu and press the controller's triangle button. A variety of options appear.

  Choose "Edit." Your music appears.

  Highlight a song you wish to add to the playlist, then press "X" on the controller. Repeat to add more songs.

  Push the controller's circle button when you finish adding songs to the playlist. Choose "Yes" to save the changes.
