How to Hook Up a Soundbar to a PS3

Sony offers sound bar systems that each include a subwoofer and a long bar with speakers in it. This type of system acts as a replacement for your TV's speakers, so you can enhance the audio from your game systems, satellite and cable TV receivers, and DVD and Blu-Ray players. Each sound bar system is outfitted with multiple HDMI cables, which you can use to connect it to your PlayStation 3 and other HD devices.

  Turn off your TV, sound bar system and PlayStation 3. You should never connect any electrical devices to each other while they are turned on.

  Plug one end of the HDMI cable to the back of the PlayStation 3 console. Connect the other end to one of the open HDMI IN ports on the back of the sound bar system.

  Turn on the PlayStation 3 console, the sound bar system and your TV. Press the Input button on your sound bar remote control, until you see the PlayStation 3 displayed on your TV screen.
