How to Remove PlayStation 3 Red & Black From BluRay Drive

The Sony PlayStation 3 console comes equipped with a Blu-ray drive that is capable of reading Blu-ray discs, standard DVDs and audio CDs. These disc drives occasionally break down due to normal wear and tear, and must be replaced. The optical laser within a Blu-ray drive can become misaligned, requiring recalibration. Accessing the Blu-ray drive of a PlayStation 3 requires the removal of the top cover, several screws, ribbon cables and a very delicate black and white IR sensor cable.
