How to Make a Bluetooth Mono Headset Work for the PS3

Bluetooth monoaural headsets are made up of an assembly that consists of a single speaker that wraps around the ear. There is no need for stereo sound on these units precisely because you are listening to audio in only one ear. Your PS3 supports any kind of Bluetooth headset, including mono headsets. You can connect the headset to the console right from the main menu screen of the PS3.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your PS3 and press the "Power" button on the mono Bluetooth headset. An LED light on the headset will flash, indicating that the unit is in headset mode.

    • 2

Use the PS3 controller to scroll to the "Settings" option and press "X."

    • 3

Scroll to "Accessory Settings" and press "X."

    • 4

Select "Manage Bluetooth Devices" and press "X." Select "Yes" when asked if you want to register a Bluetooth device.

    • 5

Select "Start Scanning." The PS3 will then begin searching for available Bluetooth devices in the area. When any are detected, they will be displayed onscreen.

    • 6

Select your Bluetooth headset from the list and press "X."

    • 7

Enter "0000" when prompted to enter the passcode for the Bluetooth headset. The headset will then be connected to the PS3.
