How to Install a PS3 DualShock

When you purchase a Dualshock controller unit for the PS3, it plugs right into the console and you are good to go. However, if you want to use this controller to play computer games on your PC, you are going to need the appropriate drivers. A driver allows the computer to communicate with the device. Conveniently enough, the drivers for the DualShock are available for free download.

  Open your web browser and navigate to a site that has the drivers for the DualShock available for download.

  Click on the "Download" tab to download the drivers to your computer.

  Plug the DualShock controller into one of the USB ports on your computer.

  Open "Device Manager" from your computer's desktop and locate the "DualShock 3" heading. Click on it and select "Normal/DX Driver" and then confirm to install the driver.

  Insert a game disc into the drive in your computer and begin a new game. You can now use the DualShock controller with the game.
