How to Get Netflix to Turn on With a PS3 Controller

The PS3 is more than just a gaming device. It can also be used to stream movies and TV shows directly from Netflix. Sometimes the PS3 controller can be confusing to use, when not serving its original purpose. The controller is ergonomically designed foremost for gaming. The symbols on the buttons are meant for conducting complicated gameplay combinations. However, the controller isn't that difficult to understand and will control the Netflix software functions just fine.

Instructions

  Press the power button on the PS3 to turn it on. Connect your PS3 to your Internet connection if it is not already connected.

  Click your TV to the appropriate TV/video channel so that the PS3 home screen is visible.

  Press the PS3 controller button all the way to the left of the screen. Under the "Users" heading, log in under the appropriate account name, if necessary. Skip this step if you are the only user of the PS3 machine.

  Press the PS3 controller button to the right until you reach the "Video" heading.

  Press the controller button down until the Netflix application icon is highlighted. Press the "X" button to activate it. The Netflix home screen will appear.
