How to Get Your PS3 Controller Synced to Another PS3

PlayStation 3 controllers can be used with different consoles than those to which they were originally synchronized. To do this you must perform the synchronization procedure with the controller you want to move on the other PlayStation 3 console. This can be useful if you get a replacement console and need to move your old controllers to it, or if you are visiting friends and take your controller along so that additional players can play on the PlayStation 3.

  Press the "Power" button on the front of the console to turn it on.

  Plug the USB cable used to recharge PlayStation 3 controllers into a USB port on the front of the console. Plug the other end of the USB cable into the top of the PlayStation controller you want to synchronize with the console.

  Press the "PS" button in the middle of the controller and wait for the lights along the top edge of your controller to flash. The controller is now synchronized with the console.
