How to Keep Your PS3 Slim Cool

Sony's PlayStation 3 Slim, or PS3 Slim, is a slimmer version of the original PS3 gaming console. Many original PS3 systems were known to have issues with heating up, so the Slim console was designed to be not only slimmer but to run cooler and quieter. Even so, the PS3 Slim can still get too hot during extensive game play. But PS3 Slim owners can take some steps to keep their gaming console cool and prevent overheating problems.

  Set up your television and PS3 Slim in a room with good ventilation or near an air conditioning vent or fan.

  Position the PS3 Slim in an area away from other electronic devices, such as DVD or Blu-ray players. Keep it at least one foot away from the television and outside of cabinets. Avoid placing the PS3 Slim directly on carpeting.

  Place the PS3 Slim console on top of a laptop cooling pad if it is still getting hot.

  Keep the ventilation grills clean and clear of dust and debris that could clog the internal fans and prevent them from working properly.
