How to Get a Quicker Connection to Vudu From My PS3

Vudu is a high-definition movie service that offers thousands of titles on demand. Like all other devices that stream multimedia content, the PlayStation 3 should be optimized to minimize buffer time, stuttering, and maximize resolution. Making a few changes to the way the PS3 connects to the Internet helps to achieve these goals.

  Connect to the network using a wired connection. Wired connections maximize the speed you pay for from your Internet service provider. Additionally, a wired connection is more secure and less prone to unauthorized interception than a wireless connection.

  Check the length of the Ethernet cable. Ethernet connections experience intermittent performance at and above 25 feet, eventually failing entirely. Remove any Universal Serial Bus cables that may be connected to your router.

  Reduce or eliminate other services that compete for bandwidth. Streaming, downloads or anything else that requires a large demand on your Internet service will also negatively affect Vudu streaming speed.
