How to Adjust 3D in PS3

The Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) supports surround sound audio output and full HD 1080p 3D video if you are using an HDTV with stereoscopic 3D capabilities. If you have a 3D HDTV and connect it to your PS3 with an HDMI cable, all you need is a PS3 game that supports 3D to use that option. Before you play your 3D game for the first time, adjust the 3D settings in your PS3 video output settings menu.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your PS3 and a controller and navigate to the "Settings" menu.

    • 2

Choose "Display Settings" from the "Settings" menu and then click on "Video Output Settings."

    • 3

Select "HDMI" as your connection type and choose "1080p" as your HDMI resolution. Your PS3 will now scan for and recognize that you have a 3D HDTV.

    • 4

Follow the prompts in the onscreen menu to configure the 3D settings and then save your settings when it finishes.

    • 5

Insert the 3D PS3 game into your PS3 disc tray and put on the 3D glasses that came with your 3D HDTV. Select "Stereoscopic 3D" in the "Settings" menu of the game to enable 3D mode. Enjoy your game!
