How to Enter Text on a PS3 Controller

The Sony PlayStation 3 is more than a gaming console, it's also a Blu-ray movie player, photo and video viewer and includes a Web browser. You can purchase a USB keyboard to use with the PlayStation 3 for faster text input, but if you don't want to invest in peripheral devices, the controller that comes with the device also works for entering text.

      Use the arrow keys on the SIXAXIS wireless controller to move to the text input box, then press "X" to select it.

      Navigate among keys on the on-screen keyboard using the arrows on the controller.

      Press "X" to select a letter. Move to the "Backspace" key and press "X" to delete a letter or character.

      Use the predictive text feature to your advantage for faster typing. As you enter letters from the keyboard one by one, the words most commonly used appear on screen.
