How to Use Grappling in Darksiders

The Abyssal Chain is one of War's secondary weapons in "Darksiders." It is the equivalent of a grappling hook similar to the Hookshot in "The Legend of Zelda" games. The chain can be used to transport War over long distances, grab items, such as bombs, or attack enemies. The Abyssal Chain is particularly useful against armored enemies or creatures carrying shields. By attacking with the Abyssal Chain before swinging your sword, you can strip an enemy of its defense, leaving it open for attack.

Instructions

  Equip the Abyssal Chain to War by pressing the directional button assigned to it. Look at the direction pad icon onscreen to find out which button is associated with the Abyssal Chain, then press that button.

  Aim the Abyssal Chain with the right thumbstick. By moving the thumbstick, the targeting reticule will move around the screen. Place the reticule over the enemy or object you want to grapple.

  Press the "R2" button to launch the Abyssal Chain. The chain will shoot out and grab hold of the target, then bring it back to you.
