How to Get Mad Catz Controllers to Work on Your PS3

Mad Catz manufactures several different types of video game console accessories for the PlayStation 3, including Bluetooth headsets, game controllers, musical instruments and A/V cables. Certain Mad Catz PS3 gaming controllers include special features, not shared with the conventional Sony controller supplied with the game console. Setting up your Mad Catz controller to work with the PS3 is an easy task that only takes a couple minutes to perform.

Two AA alkaline batteries

  Remove the battery cover on the rear of the controller.

  Install two AA alkaline batteries into the battery compartment and replace the cover.

  Turn on the PlayStation 3 game console.

  Insert the small rectangular-shaped USB dongle into one of the PS3's USB ports.

  Turn on the controller and wait for the USB dongle's LED to stop flashing and light solid.

  Hit the "Home" button on the controller. Examine the top player assignments LEDs. Begin using the controller in a normal fashion when one of the player assignment LEDs lights solid.
