How to Edit Modern Warfare 2 Patches on PS3

The Sony PlayStation 3 is a home media console that stores all of a game's released patches onto its hard drive until the developer updates it or the user deletes it. Some users may delete patches on the PlayStation 3 hard drive when they are no longer going to play a game, such as "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2," for an extended period of time. The patches are small in size, but numerous game patches can take up to a large amount of space.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your PlayStation 3 and select "Game Data Utility."

    • 2

Highlight the patch you want to delete. For example, the patch should read "Modern Warfare 2."

    • 3

Press "Triangle" and select "Information" to verify this is the patch you want to delete. Many games require installation, and this is a separate thing from the patch. Game installations tend to be more than 100 megabytes, and they are frequently larger than one gigabyte. Patche files are typically less than 100 kilobytes, and save games are in an entirely different section.

Press "O" to exit the information menu. Select "Delete" when you find the correct entry.
