How to Get an Account on PS3

Turn on the PS3 and push the controller's PS button to launch the cross-menu bar, also called the XMB.

Scroll to the right to find the "PlayStation Network" section.

Scroll down and select the "Sign Up For PlayStation Network" option. This opens the PlayStation Network account creation wizard.

Choose to create a new account.

Select continue.

Enter the required information in each of the on-screen drop-down fields, such as language and date of birth. Select continue to move to the next prompt.

Review the terms of service and user agreement and accept the terms. A new prompt appears allowing you to create your account's email and password.

Enter the required information in each of the on-screen fields, such as "Sign-in ID," "Password" and "Security Question." Select continue when finished.

Enter your online ID into the corresponding prompt. This ID represents your identity when playing games or purchasing media. Select continue, and another prompt appears asking for additional information.

Enter your first and last name into the corresponding prompts then select continue. A prompt will then appear and ask for address information.

Enter your address into the on-screen fields and select continue. A prompt appears asking if you would like to receive promotional information.

Select continue. A screen appears allowing you to review and edit information.

Confirm the information accuracy and select confirm. Select "OK" when a congratulatory prompt appears.
